I want to start progamming some games how do i get started

Well... What language do you want to prorgam them in... What kind of games?

well i want to progam them in C++ and some basic games like tic tac toe texias hold-em poker

Do you have any programming experience? First you should make basic programs, graphics are complicated and will be confusing if you try to start out with them.

I'd recommend starting with Java, its a lot like C++ but a bit easier to learn and much easier to write GUI (Graphical Users Interface) programs. Java Boutique has a good simple graphic tutorial that will have you be programming games soon.

Oy, Java.... When I was doing java... we didn't have the nice GUI tools... lol... We had to hand code everything! It took about the same time to code the GUI as it did to make an entire VB or C# program, GUI, Code, and everything!

Next time I log onto the forum from my laptop, I'll try to remember to post some code snipets of hand coding the GUI.

ohhh, you mean programs like JFrameBuilder and stuff.

I thought you meant you didn't have methods like setColor() and setBackground() and had to actually code it in...

Well, I don't think anyone uses binary, but assembly language is used in some specialized applications
