I am going to post this question, hoping that someone will see it that might be able to help!
A new product that I am adding to my website is a "Video Card to TV" adapter cable. It plugs into the 15 pin regular monitor port on a computer, and then outs to either S-Video, or the standard yellow video cable... (see pic below)
I tried a few different things, and I have not been able to get it to work... I noticed in my suppliers documentation, it says "UL 2919 coaxial low voltage computer cable ****ntc out required*****"
Any ideas? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Whats happnin capn?
Yea, I have seen that before... but it doesn't really help... ntc may, or may not = ntsc? Like a regular TV out thing? from a VCR, DVD Player, Game console, etc? Thats wierd....
So, if your video card was made to out to a TV, then this "Adapter" will work? But if that is the case, wouldn't you need some bizzare adapter to hook it up to a monitor? I don't know, this thing is wierd!
Have you tried the S. Video out at all?
No, I have not. None of my TV's will accept S-Video... I have been looking at other TV's, but have not found one yet.

None of mine do either but I think one of my VCR's does.
Andy,
It appears to me that this cable is designed to work with specific video cards that already include a TVout encoder, such as the Matrox Millennium G450. I do not know of any way for a cable to apply the proper conversions from a normal monitor jack to a TV--some kind of encoder/decoder is required.
This cable is available at other sources. Some note that it works with certain cards only, others do not. But I suspect you will not have any luck unless you use it with a card that already includes a TVout encoder.
BTW, these forums are a nice idea.
Have fun,
Alan

Alan,
Thanks for the info!! That does make sense! I'm glad you like the forums also! I think that after we get several members, and more posts, they will be a very useful tool!
