Just wondered what forum software everyone prefers to use and or administrate.

I like phpBB for administration, i get lost in ipb, but invision is good because of its fast reply feature and ease of use on the user end of things.

well, pHpBB is easier to manage, but IPB has more options.

I'd say my personal prefrence would be between IPB2.1 and Vanilla.

vanilla, no like. seems cluttered. not a big fan.

IPB is perfect for the control freak! phpBB 3 should give the webmaster more control, from the demo I have got its good but still not as much control as IPB

i vote for Invision Pro and Free. i prefer pro, but invisionfree is a good way to learn how to manage a forum.

pHpBB is good for first timers, before you use IPB. But i perfer IPB over anything, except vBulletin, never used it, but looks good.

a lot of people say vbulletin is the best coz of its vast modifications, but personally i'd love to have an ipb 2.1

I prefer ikonboard. it's a really good cgi-powered board and has many features. It has about the same features as IPB.

You don't need FTP for it because it already has HTML files just like IPB.

And if you have some good HTML knowledge, you can make your own modifications, like all that i made for this one http://thecureforboredom.com/forums

well i have an ipb and a phpbb but i would like to try vbullition

IPB 2.1 and Vbulletin are amazing. Too bad Vbulletin is so expensive though..
